Hooray for Christmas parties...
that disguise themselves as 4-hour, offsite staff meetings. Yesterday I worked for 4 hours, drove to Bellvue on the clock (about an hour), and ate my catered lunch at the "staff meeting"--by the time we got done there was not time to drive back up to Everett in rush-hour traffic, so I had to go home early. Ten hours pay for 4 hours work=Merry Christmas. I'm taking tomorrow off to go snowboarding with my brother, who is in town from the Air Force Academy for a few days. I still have to go back in Monday and Tuesday next week for short days, but after that it's nine consecutive paid days off.
In other news, online friends became real friends last weekend in a trip to the newly (read: still under construction) renovated Museum of Flight. It was a little to cold to stand in line for the outdoor exhibits, but we enjoyed the displays in the main gallery.
One other interesting happening: a friend from Colorado came out to visit for the weekend last Saturday. By the end of the weekend, my sister and I had talked her into staying through the week, and now it looks like she could be moving out here after Christmas. I think more of you need to come visit me for the weekend. Wouldn't take too long to transplant all of my friends out here.
