What's all that white powdery stuff?
No, it's not sugar or cocaine. It's been SNOWING in Seattle. Of course, this being Seattle, any accumulation that may have occured over the last week probably melted off before the end of the day it fell, but it's still something to get excited about. Freezing temperatures and snow here are almost as rare as they are in east Texas. The real excitement, however, comes from realing that if it's snowing here, the mountains must be getting burried. And on the same day last week that I crawled north on I-5 on my way to work through heavy snowfall, I heard on the radio that the pass was closed. By Thursday Crystal Mountain was open, and it didn't take me long to decide how to spend my Saturday. The great thing about getting up for work at 4:30 is that on the weekends you can sleep in for a couple of hours and still be on the slopes before most of the people who got up early to go skiing. Naturally I'm a little sore today, but I'm also itching to go again, possibly as soon as this weekend; I've got to find something to do with all of that extra time off.
