I can't find my left shoe

Check that one off the list
Kind of disappointing. It's not even a whole item, just part of one. Dave and I went to the mall after we got off work today. I did get new soccer shoes and running shoes, but decided that the wardrobe upgrade could wait awhile. Sadly, that was the high point of my day. At least the week is now half over. I really don't have anything else to say, except that my toe hurts. If anyone is really dying to hear about that, let me know and I'll write a nice, descriptive account, but it's pretty gross, so I won't go into details unless someone asks. Hope all my friends in longview have a better night's sleep tonight than they did last night.

Things to do...
Pay bills...This is a fun one. So much fun, in fact, that I do it, at the very least, once a month. Rent, car payment, student loans, phone, utilies, cable, credit card...probably a couple others that don't come to mind at the moment; but yeah, lots of excitment here.

Meet with financial advisor...Because enough of my money is not already committed before it's even made to things in item number 1, this will even further deplete my reserves of disposable cash. But think long-term. Someday, I'll only have to work two jobs in my retirement instead of three thanks to today's careful financial planning.

Go shopping...Arguably one of the most dispicable ways to spend time, this never-the-less becomes necessary once-in-a-while. Priorities: soccer shoes (the ones I'm playing in right now are about to suffer a major blowout), running shoes (trying to combat the effects of sitting at a desk all day with nothing to keep me awake except the motion of lifting food to my mouth; current running shoes going on 4 years old), clothes (regretably, my college wardrobe of T-shirts and jeans doesn't quite cut it any more, and I'm getting tired of washing my work clothes every other day to keep them in the rotation), food (if there's any money left, it'd be nice to stock the fridge).

Get scheduled maintenance done on the car...This one's pretty self explanatory. Time for tire rotation and oil change.

Put new running shoes to work...Unfortunately, just buying the shoes is not enough to fight the fat.

Hang out with friends...Here's the payoff. All of the other stuff you have to do, or you should do...whatever. Wednesday after work: head to the park and fire up the barbeque. Throw the ball, or maybe the frisbee for awhile. Enjoy the weather, the scenery, the food, and the company. Forget about the office, the ledger, and the leaky faucet, while discussing more important things like what to do with the weekend. Top it off with a little theology as the sun goes down. What could be better?

Oh, and one last thing. Take Friday off. You deserve it.

It starts with the shoe. Maybe the next day it's a t-shirt or a sock. You don't know if the washing machine ate it, or your roommate borrowed it a month ago and forgot that it was yours. All you know is that by the end of the week, you're walking to class naked because you don't have any clothes left.
