Thank God for laid back weekends. After spending most of my time Saturday morning watching news coverage of the Columbia incident, I called up the yellow house in the middle of the famed Saturday afternoon breakfast. It was great to talk with all of you who were there. I'm glad to hear that the breakfast has continued, even if the numbers are down somewhat from where they were a couple of years ago. Saturday afternoon I met my sister at Seattle Center. We went to the ski and snowboard show, where I found a good deal on bindings to replace the ones I broke on the roadtrip. Then we walked to downtown because we couldn't find change for the bus and spent a couple of hours in Borders. We rode the monorail back up to Seattle Center because as we started walking the direction, my sister decided to look in a shop that was just below the monorail terminal. When we walked out of the shop, there was the escalator up to the monorail right in front of us. We went back up to my sister's dorm for a couple of hours and then grabbed dinner and went to the SPU production of "The Last Night of Ballyhoo". The play is about the struggles of a Jewish family to come to terms with their heritage and social standing in Atlanta's high society in the late 1930's. I enjoyed the play, as well as the time spent with sis. With the exception of church, today has consisted of migrating between the couch and the table, with a brief trip to the library thrown in. I plan to wrap the evening up with the excitement of doing my laundry so that I don't get myself fired by showing up for work naked tomorrow morning.
