I can't find my left shoe

An update...not because I have anything to say, but because I haven't posted in a few days. Work is still boring. Hopefully by next week I will have access to the tools I need to do my job, and I will get moved into my permanent desk. Unfortunately, I will not be able to travel 3500 miles to visit with you all this evening. You all have a blast.

I'm sure most of the people who frequent my blog know already, but for those of you who don't, you've got to check this out. What a great story. My life is nowhere near that interesting at the moment, but here's the update anyway. I have now worked two days at Boeing. The commute has added 200 miles to my car, but I do enjoy driving it. The only negative thing in my mind is that I have to get up 5:00 to be at work by 7:30. Earlier might end up being better though. Once I've had time to adjust to the hours, I may try getting up at 4:30 and see if I can beat some of the traffic. If leaving 30 minutes earlier will get me to the office 45 minutes earlier, then it's probably worth it. Work itself is a little slow. Large companies tend to carry with them large bureacracies, so simple things like setting up an email account happen with the speed of an advancing glacier. I have a project and I'm doing the best I can to get filled in on the background information, but I don't have access to any of the tools I need to make tangible progress. Why? Because my network login hasn't been created yet. They have been "working on it" since the beginning of last week (They start setting things up three days before a new employee comes in so that things will be ready to go by the time the new employee shows up. That's the theory anyway; this is my second time starting with the company and both have required several days wait on accounts after I started.) but it looks like it will be Friday at least before I can do any meaningful work.

It starts with the shoe. Maybe the next day it's a t-shirt or a sock. You don't know if the washing machine ate it, or your roommate borrowed it a month ago and forgot that it was yours. All you know is that by the end of the week, you're walking to class naked because you don't have any clothes left.
