It really stinks that soccer got cancelled Thursday night. We were all psyched up to take on the futbol juggernaut that is the apartments. Sure, it probably wouldn't have been the upset victory that we have all been dreaming about since, oh, four years ago, but it was such a letdown being that pumped up for the game and then not getting the release of actually playing it. Oh well. Now there's another week and 3B to get us back to that high point. I don't know what it is about being on 1B and playing soccer; I hadn't played soccer since sixth grade, and I didn't miss it that much. Ever since intramural soccer my freshman year though, I can't get enough of it. Something about the group of guys we have on the floor just makes you want to get out of class on a nice afternoon and kick the ball around...juggle, shoot, passing circle, it really doesn't matter.
But that's not the tune for today...it's hockey time.

So here's the deal. There are twenty-eight days until graduation; I have five punches left on my common grounds card before I get a free coffee and three punches left on my marble slab card before I get a free ice cream. My goal is to make sure I collect both of these free items before leaving Texas. I'm sure they divide up the cost of the items they plan to give away among all of the items you have to purchase to get to that free treat, so I will actually feel somewhat cheated if I fail to earn my coffee and my ice cream. The moral of the story is: if you get the urge to go to either common grounds or marble slab in the next four weeks, you need to give me a call, remind me of my goal, and drag me along, because, being the bright guy that I am, I will probably forget otherwise.
Important countdowns:
weekend: 1 day
1bonfire: 7 days
Thanksgiving: 13 days
Mom arrives from Philippines: 24 days
graduation: 28 days

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was not great, but it wasn't terrible either. However, the upcoming weekends promise to be more exciting. For any of you under the mistaken impression that 1bonfire will occur this Friday, it has been officially chaged to the November 22. That leaves the fall performance of the Longview Symphony as the sole diversion for this coming weekend, unless, of course, you happen to be traveling to Houston with the Sting. That's right, we'll be playing hockey Saturday night and Sunday morning, hoping to improve on our current 0-4 record. It might be a rough couple of days. As already mentioned, 1bonfire will be the main attraction of next weekend, and then...Thanksgiving. That's right, another four day weekend coming up, and we just can't wait. Naturally, the Saturdays between now and then will be rounded out by breakfast at the yellow house. And now, to avoid the distinct possibility of being mistaken for Bethany, I'm going to sleep.
Oh, thirty-one days to graduation.

Three hour take home test and machine design project have conspired to make my weekend overly short...
Thanks for the good time, Dr. Lee.
